The Volcano Inside

Sophia loved building towers with her blocks. But when her little brother, Leo, knocked one down, Sophia felt a volcano erupt inside her! "NOOOO!" she screamed, stomping her feet. Tears welled up in her eyes. Mommy came over and hugged Sophia. "It's okay to be angry, Sophia," she said gently. "But we can't hurt Leo. Tell him how you feel." Sophia took a deep breath. "Leo, I was so sad when you knocked down my tower!" she said, her voice trembling. Leo looked at her with big, brown eyes. "I'm sorry, Sophia," he whispered. "Can we build a new tower together?" Sophia smiled. "Yes!" she said, feeling the volcano inside her calm down. Building with Leo was much more fun anyway.
