Lumi, the Nightlight Fairy

Max loved playing outside, running through the sunshine, and building sandcastles on the beach. But when the sun dipped below the horizon and shadows stretched long, a shiver would run down his spine. Max was afraid of the dark. Every night, as his parents tucked him in, Max would clutch his little nightlight, its soft glow barely pushing back the darkness. "It's just shadows, Max," his mom would say, "and shadows are just the absence of light." But Max couldn't help but imagine monsters lurking in the corners of his room. One night, as Max lay in bed, his nightlight flickered and spoke in a tiny voice, "Don't be afraid, Max. I'm here with you." Max gasped. His nightlight could talk! "Who are you?" Max whispered. "I'm Lumi, the Nightlight Fairy," the little light replied. "I come to life when the moon shines, and I bring magic to the night." Lumi told Max about the moonbeams that danced on the ceiling, the fireflies that blinked like stars on the ground, and the owls that hooted softly in the trees. Max listened, his fear slowly melting away. "See, Max," Lumi said, "nighttime is not scary. It's full of wonder and magic." From that night on, Max wasn't afraid of the dark anymore. He looked forward to bedtime, knowing that Lumi, the Nightlight Fairy, would be there to guide him through the magical world of the night. He even started to imagine the moonbeams dancing on his ceiling, and the fireflies blinking in his garden. Max learned that the darkness wasn't something to fear, but a time for dreams and wonder.
