The Tiny Fish Who Built a Tower

Amelia felt like a tiny fish in a giant ocean. Brightwood Elementary was HUGE! She was starting first grade, and all the other kids seemed so big and grown-up. Mr. Sterling, her teacher, was super organized, with a desk full of colorful folders and a schedule that looked like a maze. Amelia just wanted to hide under her desk! Lunchtime came, and Amelia sat alone, picking at her sandwich. Suddenly, a loud crash! A giant, wobbly tower of blocks had fallen, and a little girl named Lily was crying. Mr. Sterling saw them and gave Amelia a big thumbs up. He told her she was a great helper and that everyone makes mistakes, even grown-ups! Amelia realized that even though she felt small, she could still be brave and helpful. She learned that even the quietest voice can make a difference, and that every new school year is a chance to be herself. From then on, Amelia wasn't afraid anymore. She was a tiny fish, but she was a brave, kind, and helpful one, ready to explore the big, exciting ocean of first grade!
