The Sun's Sleepy Secret
Oliver the owl loved the night. It was his time to fly and hunt. But he couldn't understand why the sun went to sleep every night. "Why does the sun go to bed?" he hooted to his friend, the little squirrel.
The squirrel shrugged. "Maybe it's tired from shining all day."
Oliver wasn't satisfied. He flew high, high above the trees, until he saw the sun setting behind the mountains. It looked like a giant orange ball, slowly sinking into the sky.
Suddenly, a tiny voice whispered, "It's time for me to rest, little owl. I'll be back tomorrow, shining bright."
Oliver looked down and saw a little girl with twinkling eyes. "You're the sun?" he asked, amazed.
The girl smiled. "I am! And I need to sleep so I can wake up and make the world bright again."
Oliver understood. The sun needed rest just like him. He flew back to his nest, happy to know the sun wasn't gone forever, but just taking a nap.
