Lily loved her teddy bear, Mr. Snuggles, more than anything in the world. Mr. Snuggles had soft, fluffy fur, a button nose, and the biggest, brownest eyes Lily had ever seen. They did everything together: they played hide-and-seek under the bed, had tea parties with tiny cups, and even went on adventures in the backyard.
One day, Lily's little brother, Leo, came home from the hospital. He was tiny and had a lot of hair on his head, but he couldn't talk yet. Lily was excited to have a brother, but she was also a little worried. What if Leo wanted to play with Mr. Snuggles?
Lily held Mr. Snuggles close, her heart beating fast. "He can't have Mr. Snuggles," she whispered to her teddy bear. "He's mine!"
But Leo, with his big, curious eyes, kept reaching for Mr. Snuggles. Lily tried to keep him away, but Leo was persistent. He giggled and reached again, his tiny fingers brushing against Mr. Snuggles' fur.
Lily's mom saw the struggle. "Lily," she said gently, "Leo wants to play with Mr. Snuggles too. Why don't you share him?"
Lily frowned. "But he's my best friend!" she protested.
"Sharing is caring, Lily," Mom said with a smile. "And when you share, you make everyone happy, even your toys."
Lily looked at Leo, who was now trying to pull Mr. Snuggles' arm. She sighed and held out Mr. Snuggles to her brother.
Leo grabbed Mr. Snuggles' paw and giggled. He pulled the teddy bear close and rubbed his cheek against Mr. Snuggles' fur. Lily watched, surprised. Leo seemed to be enjoying Mr. Snuggles just as much as she did.
"He likes Mr. Snuggles!" Lily exclaimed.
"Of course he does," Mom said. "Mr. Snuggles is a very special teddy bear."
Lily decided to give sharing a try. She sat next to Leo and watched him play with Mr. Snuggles. She even helped him hold the teddy bear, and they both giggled as Mr. Snuggles' arm flopped around.
Suddenly, Lily had an idea. She took out her doll, Princess Sparkle, and gave it to Leo. He looked at the doll with wide eyes and reached for it. He held Princess Sparkle close and giggled again.
Lily realized that sharing wasn't so bad after all. In fact, it was even fun! She and Leo played together for hours, sharing their toys and laughing. Mr. Snuggles even seemed to be enjoying the company. He wiggled his nose and smiled, as if he was happy to be shared.
That night, as Lily tucked Mr. Snuggles into bed, she felt a warm feeling in her heart. She had learned that sharing wasn't about losing something, but about making new friends and having even more fun. And she knew that Mr. Snuggles, her best friend, would always be there for her, even when he was sharing his cuddles with her little brother.
