The Summer of Giant Cows
Aday was a farmer, but not just any farmer. Aday was a farmer who loved summer. He loved the sun, the heat, the long evenings, and most of all, the holidays. Every summer, Aday took a break from his work on the farm and dedicated himself to enjoying life.
This year, Aday had decided that his break would be even longer than usual. "A whole month of vacation," he told himself, "a whole month to sleep in, eat ice cream, and play ball with my friends." And so he did.
Aday completely forgot about his farm. He forgot about the cows, the chickens, the vegetables, and everything that needed attention. He dedicated himself to enjoying the summer as if there were no tomorrow.
But summer, like all good things, came to an end. One day, Aday woke up with a strange feeling. It was as if something was telling him he should go back to the farm.
"Nonsense," thought Aday, "it's just a little nostalgia. I'll go back to the farm tomorrow."
But the feeling didn't go away. The next day, Aday woke up with the same feeling, even stronger.
"Well, I guess nothing lasts forever," Aday said to himself, "I'll go back to the farm."
Aday got dressed quickly and ran to the farm.
Upon arriving, Aday was stunned. The farm was completely different. The cows, instead of being in the stable, were grazing in the garden. The chickens, instead of being in the coop, were pecking at the flowers. And the vegetables, instead of being in the garden, were... on the roof of the house!
Aday rubbed his eyes, thinking he was dreaming. But no, it wasn't a dream. The farm was full of giant cows, giant chickens, and giant vegetables.
"What happened here?" Aday wondered, completely bewildered.
Suddenly, one of the giant cows approached Aday and said, "Good morning, farmer. Did you come to milk me?"
Aday was petrified. The cow was talking.
"But... how?" Aday asked, unable to believe what he was seeing.
"It's a secret," the cow replied, "but I can tell you that it's all your fault. You forgot about us all summer and now we've become giants."
Aday felt terrible. It hadn't been his intention to let the cows, chickens, and vegetables become giants.
"I'm so sorry," said Aday, "I didn't know this could happen."
"Well, now you know," said the cow, "and you have to do something to fix it."
Aday got to work. First, he tried to milk the giant cow, but the milk was as thick as honey and wouldn't come out of the udder. Then, he tried to collect the eggs from the giant chickens, but the eggs were as big as soccer balls and wouldn't fit in any basket. And finally, he tried to collect the giant vegetables, but the vegetables were as heavy as stones and he couldn't move them.
Aday was desperate. He didn't know what to do.
Suddenly, he had an idea.
"What if I feed them something special?" Aday thought.
Aday went to the kitchen and prepared a large amount of food for the cows, chickens, and vegetables. He fed them carrots, apples, corn, and alfalfa, but nothing worked. The cows, chickens, and vegetables remained giants.
Aday was about to give up when he had another idea.
"What if I feed them something that reminds them of their normal size?" Aday thought.
Aday went to the garden and collected a bunch of fresh grass. He gave it to the cows, chickens, and vegetables.
And then, something magical happened.
The cows, chickens, and vegetables began to shrink. Slowly, they returned to their normal size.
Aday felt relieved. He had solved the problem.
"Thank you, farmer," said the cows, chickens, and vegetables.
"You're welcome," replied Aday, "but I learned an important lesson. I'll never forget my work on the farm again, not even in summer."
And so, Aday became a normal farmer again, but this time, a much more responsible farmer. And he never forgot his cows, his chickens, and his vegetables again, not even in summer.
